Maternal & Child Health

Supporting Mothers & Children From Pregnancy Through Early Childhood

At SAREC Medicare Centre, we understand that a healthy pregnancy and a healthy start in life are among the most important gifts we can give to the next generation. Our maternal and child health programme is designed to provide expectant mothers, new parents, and young children with the care, support, and guidance they need at every stage.

Antenatal Care (ANC)

Regular antenatal visits are essential for monitoring the health of both mother and baby throughout pregnancy. Our ANC services include:

  • Routine check-ups to monitor blood pressure, weight, and foetal growth
  • Laboratory tests including blood group, haemoglobin, HIV, syphilis, and urinalysis
  • Tetanus vaccination and iron/folic acid supplementation
  • Health education on nutrition, birth preparedness, and danger signs
  • Malaria prevention counseling and intermittent preventive treatment (IPTp)
  • Referral planning for delivery at a hospital or birthing centre

Postnatal Care

After delivery, both mother and baby need follow-up care. We offer postnatal check-ups to ensure:

  • Mother is recovering well physically and emotionally
  • Baby is feeding, growing, and developing normally
  • Immunizations are started on schedule
  • Family planning options are discussed and offered

Child Immunizations & Vaccinations

We follow Uganda's National Expanded Programme on Immunization (UNEPI) schedule, providing all recommended childhood vaccines to protect your child against diseases including:

  • Polio
  • Measles
  • Diphtheria, Pertussis, Tetanus (DPT)
  • Hepatitis B
  • Pneumococcal disease
  • Rotavirus

Family Planning Services

We provide confidential family planning counseling and a range of contraceptive methods to help families plan their futures. Our approach is non-judgemental, respectful, and focused on empowering individuals to make informed choices about their reproductive health.

Growth Monitoring

Regular growth monitoring for infants and young children helps detect early signs of malnutrition or developmental delays, allowing for timely intervention and support.
